Role Description

Reporting directly to the National Service Manager, we are currently seeking a Remote - Field Service Technician for our Eastern Region and based remotely in Columbus, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Mechanical/Commissioning or Assembly background with 3+ years' experience and at least three years of field experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 1-2 years of business and contracting experience in a similar job position with emphasis on supplier agreements with general or subcontractors.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals, purchase orders, and project part specifications.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a friendly and professional manner.
• Strong PC skills, proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, and MS Outlook.
• Journeyman Electrician/HVAC/Commissioning Certification or License from any state, Electrical Engineering or Technical Degree with similar field experience.

Requirements

• Installation, repair, and testing of field equipment, in accordance with customer’s or manufacturer's specifications and company procedures.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical/controls equipment malfunctions and warranty repairs.
• Perform assembly/modifications and overall quality defect resolution on all IE products and equipment.
• May occasionally travel to support areas throughout the country and possibly overseas.
• Completion of receiving Inspections with internal Regional Managers, subcontractors, and customers.
• Assess Warranty claims and work with Regional Manager to understand the validity of such claims.
• Perform preventative maintenance programs for an assortment of electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Ensure adherence to document processes for all work performed.
• Response to client calls, emails, and texts is a critical priority.
• Maintain, inspect, and care for IE tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures onsite.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team to understand their needs.
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints and work to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Develop relationships with customers, commissioning agents, and general contractors.
• Adhere to all IE provided training, development, and continued technicians products and services training.
• Mentor and develop any technicians or sub-vendors requiring training or knowledge of IE products and equipment.
• Evaluate and approve safety programs and safety ratings for subcontractors.
• Maintain regular and consistent job attendance.
• Follow and comply with IE Core Values.
• Follow and comply with IE safety program including following IE’s Cardinal Safety Rules.
• Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
