[Hiring] Director of Platform Engineering @LeapXpert

Role Description

As the Director of Platform Engineering at LeapXpert, you will own the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure powering a globally distributed SaaS platform. You will lead a globally distributed team across APAC, EMEA, and US time zones, spanning DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Database Operations, and Incident Management.

You will drive operational excellence through modern practices including:

• GitOps
• Infrastructure as Code
• Policy as Code

Security and reliability are foundational to this role - you will embed security-first thinking into every layer of our infrastructure while building systems designed for resilience and high availability. This role requires a hands-on leader with an unwavering commitment to engineering excellence, who can balance strategic vision with deep technical expertise in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

This position is ideal for someone with proven experience operating large-scale cloud infrastructure for SaaS products and a passion for building high-performing platform teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles
• At least 5 years in a leadership position within a SaaS or high-growth technology environment
• Proven experience operating and optimizing cloud infrastructure at scale
• Hands-on expertise managing cloud spend exceeding $1M annually
• Strong technical expertise in multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, GitOps workflows, and Policy as Code frameworks
• Demonstrated success leading infrastructure migrations, platform modernization, and large-scale technical projects
• Proven track record driving incident management programs
• Strong experience implementing and managing change management processes in production SaaS environments
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead globally distributed teams
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001) and their infrastructure implications

Requirements

• Champion modern engineering practices including GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Policy as Code across the organization
• Oversee Kubernetes platform operations, ensuring robust container orchestration and deployment pipelines
• Lead DevOps initiatives encompassing CI/CD pipelines, developer experience, and engineering tooling
• Implement and maintain observability frameworks to ensure comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Establish and lead incident management processes
• Drive resilience testing and chaos engineering practices
• Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
• Implement rigorous change management processes
• Partner with product development teams to plan and coordinate rollouts
• Lead and mentor a globally distributed team across DevOps, SRE, Database Operations, and Incident Management functions
• Ensure infrastructure operations maintain compliance with SOC2 and ISO 27001 standards
