Role Description

Vital Village Networks (VVN) builds community capacity to optimize child wellbeing, prevent early life adversities, and advance equity through coalition building, collaboration, leadership development, research, data sharing, and advocacy and is based within the Department of Pediatrics. The Senior Training and Learning Specialist will oversee daily operations of the Supportive Trauma Informed Interventions for Educators (STRIVE) program, and associated VVN efforts, focused on promoting early childhood mental health and wellness.

The role includes:

• Working with community-based organizations, school and early care systems, educators, families, community champions, and institutions to build collaborative partnerships.
• Sustaining and scaling the network and overseeing network programs.
• Supporting the backbone functions of the VVN and supervising support team members.

This role will focus on leading, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating training content related to trauma-informed practices for children ages zero to eight, their caregivers, and systems of care/education. Responsibilities include assisting with communications with Network members across digital platforms, systems development for internal/external purposes, and increasing access to programs for Network families and members.

Qualifications

• Masters-level degree (MPH, MSW, etc.)
• At least five years working in the broader field of child health and wellbeing and childhood trauma.
• At least two years directly working in training, learning, and education.

Requirements

• Experience in synthesizing complex health information and in health communications.
• Topical knowledge related to racism in healthcare, and clinician/patient communication techniques.
• Eye for visually appealing content and consistent branding and style guide implementation.
• Graphic design experience.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective formats for communicating various types of content, including development of engagement activities.
• Comfort with conducting research in PubMed and grey literature.
• Ability to receive constructive criticism and appreciation of review processes.
• Experience facilitating review processes with multiple stakeholders and integrating feedback effectively into training and learning materials.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Google Drives, DropBox, and Zoom.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously with frequent check-ins.
• Track record of flexibility and meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of CME/CNE approval requirements for educational content.

Special Working Conditions

• Must have own computer, preferably with a camera, that can use software programs including Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Articulate Suite.
• Position is per diem and remote.
• Expected to track own hours and communicate about project timelines.
• Availability for a Zoom meeting at least once a week, Monday-Friday 9-5.
