SEN Caseworker β 3 Month Rolling Contract

Hampshire County Council is in search of skilled SEN Caseworkers to become part of their SEND Service, working remotely. The role involves managing a substantial statutory caseload across the 0-11 Years and Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) pathways. Responsibilities include:

Overseeing statutory EHC assessments for individuals aged 0-25.

Handling intricate SEND caseloads and adhering to statutory deadlines.

Serving as the primary contact for parents, carers, schools, and professionals.

Drafting, revising, and maintaining Education, Health, and Care Plans.

Coordinating input from education, health, and social care experts.
-
Conducting Annual Reviews and making necessary EHCP amendments.
-
Preparing documentation and evidence for SEND Tribunals.

Participating in case discussions, meetings, and reviews as needed.

Managing correspondence with professionalism and sensitivity.
-
Keeping precise case records and updating Hampshire systems.

Escalating complex or high-risk cases when necessary.

Collaborating with Special Needs Officers and SEND Managers to ensure compliance and uphold quality standards.
Qualifications

At least 12 months of experience in a similar SEN Caseworker/EHCP Caseworker role within a Local Authority SEND Team.

Proven ability to manage caseloads exceeding 250 cases.

Experience in coordinating 20-week EHC Needs Assessments from initiation to completion.

Proficiency in completing Annual Reviews.

Experience in preparing and managing SEND Tribunal packs and tribunal casework.

Comprehensive understanding of:

SEND Tribunal procedures

Ability to articulate previous caseloads, statutory responsibilities, and SEND processes during interviews.
