Role Description
The Lead, Reviews will oversee and support the review of instructional materials within their designated content area, ensuring that reviews are evidence-rich, aligned to EdReports criteria, and meet the needs of educators and curriculum decision makers. The Lead will collaborate with content teams and stakeholders to enhance review processes, provide expert guidance, and drive improvements in instruction across the nation.
This specific role will bring deep expertise in early mathematics learning and development to EdReports’ review work, with a particular focus on how young children develop mathematical understanding from Pre-K through the early elementary grades. The Lead will apply knowledge of early mathematics research, standards, developmental and learning progressions, and research-supported instructional practices to the review of instructional materials.
The role will also partner across EdReports to strengthen review tools and processes and ensure that EdReports’ approach to early mathematics reflects the research base and the needs of educators and students.
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

Lead and support the review of pre-K instructional materials, ensuring alignment to relevant standards and EdReports high-quality, evidence-based criteria.

Train and support educator-reviewers, ensuring consistent calibration across teams to produce reliable, evidence-rich reviews.

Collaborate across the organization and with external partners to update and refine early mathematics review tools and processes.

Provide expert guidance and coaching to review teams, helping them navigate the review process.

Apply expertise in early mathematics learning and development to support accurate analysis of instructional materials.

Engage with external stakeholders, including publishers, to communicate the review process.

Serve as a thought leader to explain EdReports tools and processes and the results of early mathematics reviews.

Other relevant duties as assigned to support the organization's strategic goals.

Successfully contribute to the completion of projects/reviews in line with 2026 goals and KPIs.

Achieve 100% alignment in calibration checks across review teams by the end of each review cycle.

Ensure that 100% of reviewers complete the required training and demonstrate proficiency.

Spend roughly 10% of time engaging with the Brand Office to plan and share thought leadership ideas.

Collaborate with colleagues to plan and contribute to cross-functional strategic and operational initiatives.
Qualifications

Passion for EdReports’ mission, vision, core values, and commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity.

Deep expertise in Pre-K–5 mathematics, particularly in Pre-K–3 mathematics learning and development, with at least seven years of professional experience.

Minimum of five years of people and/or project management experience.

Deep knowledge of Pre-K–5 mathematics standards, developmental and learning progressions, and research-supported instructional practices.

Experience with early mathematics curriculum and instructional materials.

Strong understanding of current research and best practices related to early mathematics learning and development.

Ability to analyze complex instructional materials and synthesize evidence into clear recommendations.

Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex, cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional written and spoken communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Fluent in Google Suite, MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

College degree.
Preferred
-
Pre-K–5 mathematics teaching, coaching, curriculum, or leadership experience.

Expertise in child development and developmentally appropriate mathematics instruction.

Understanding of the early mathematics research, curriculum, and policy landscape.

Expertise supporting multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

Experience conducting or supporting instructional materials reviews.

Master’s degree.
Salary
The salary for this position is $102,000 – $139,000 annually. Final salaries are based on the role's requirements and the candidate's experience and skills, while maintaining equity within our compensation bands.

Work Authorization Requirements

Physical Requirements
Work is normally performed in a remote office environment, including standing and sitting for long periods of time. Employee may be required to travel by car, air, or other transportation.
