Role Description

The Washtenaw Alliance for Virtual Education is seeking a dedicated and motivated graduate assistant to support our educational programs and initiatives. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work closely with educators and administrators to enhance the virtual learning experience for our students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging online learning environment.

• Assist in the development and implementation of virtual curriculum and instructional materials.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student engagement and academic success.
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing communications, and maintaining records.
• Conduct research on best practices in virtual education and contribute to program evaluation efforts.
• Facilitate online workshops and training sessions for educators and students.
• Support the integration of technology in the classroom and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of data related to student performance and program effectiveness.
• Engage with students and families to provide resources and support for their learning needs.
• Other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the organization.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program related to education, instructional design, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of virtual learning environments and online teaching methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in using educational technology tools and platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in educational settings, preferably in a virtual context, is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational practices.
• Availability to work full-time hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
