[Hiring] Cybersecurity for Systems and Networks Adjunct Faculty @University of Maryland Global Campus

Role Description

This position is specifically to teach remotely, for stateside applicants. Local applicants only; UMGC does not sponsor logistical support for this role.

• Introduction to Cybersecurity (CTCH 605): A study of the basics of cybersecurity and the application of cyber methodologies to cyber architectures, services, protocols, algorithms, software components, and programming languages.
• Cybersecurity Threats and Analysis (CTCH 615): An introduction to tools and tactics to manage cybersecurity threats, identify various types of common threats, analyze organizational exposure to threats, and collect and analyze cybersecurity intelligence.
• Cybersecurity for Systems and Networks (CTCH 625): A study of key security issues and procedures in systems and networks, identifying security issues within LANs, WANs, and network operating systems.
• Cybersecurity Attack Prevention Strategies (CTCH 635): A comprehensive study of targeted cyberattacks, including advanced persistent threats, focusing on planning, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from targeted cyberattacks.
• Cybersecurity Exploitation Methodologies (CTCH 645): A comprehensive study of the cyber exploitation methodologies, identifying the latest tools, techniques, and ethical hacking practices.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Professional experience in Computer Networking and Security.
• Applicants must have and be able to maintain their own legal status in the country in which they apply to teach.
• A deeply student-centered approach rooted in empathy, flexibility, professional integrity, and cultural responsiveness.

Requirements

• Experience teaching adult learners in an online, asynchronous environment.
• Prior postsecondary teaching experience.
• Active engagement in your discipline's professional community.
