Role Description

Georgia Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for a Full Time Mathematics Instructor for Arts & Sciences Program. Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses at a technical college. Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities and may involve internet classes. The instructor must possess the ability to teach all phases of the program curriculum to adults or high school students participating in college-level classes at the college or at participating area high schools. The instructor will report to the School Dean.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques
• Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required
• Understands and is experienced in practices and procedures necessary to effectively teach the subject matter
• Follows approved course syllabi
• Completes all documentation related to assigned courses in a timely manner
• Maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned property
• Day, evening and online classes may be available based on scheduling needs

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Mathematics
• Appropriate degree must reflect the requirements of the College’s accrediting agency
• Strong computer skills and communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population
• Willingness to work teaching shifts that might require split teaching days, and/or multiple campuses

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching at collegiate level preferred

Requirements

• Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies
• Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned

Salary and Benefits

• Salary range is $50,000 - $55,000, which will be determined by education, experience, and other qualifications
• This is a full-time remote position with paid state holidays
