Role Description
As part of the new Strategy, Intelligence & Integration structure, GL&C has consolidated learning and development (L&D) resources into a single, dedicated team. This section covers what is changing, what is not, and how the new team will prioritize its work.

The new L&D function brings together work currently spread across the department: Staff Legal training plans, GC&E instructional design, knowledge management, and information services.

Consolidating these into one team gives GL&C a consistent, dedicated capability for building technical and AI skills at scale.

In 2026, the new team continues the learning and development work already underway across GL&C, including programs and initiatives already committed for this year.

Starting in 2027, the team will prioritize learning and development investments that enable large groups of employees to deliver on GL&C's 2030 priorities.

This newly formed L&D team will allow GL&C to focus effort where it will have the greatest impact at scale.

There will be a prioritized approach to learning and development, built to move the department toward 2030 and beyond.
This role reports to the GL&C Chief Strategy & Integration Officer, serving as one of three peer functional leads within the Strategy, Intelligence & Integration (SII) team alongside the GL&C Data Officer and Strategic Alignment & Operations leader. The function is organized into four teams β Development & Training, Instructional Design, Knowledge Management, and Legal Information Services β and is charged with building AI fluency and leadership capability, in addition to technical skills, across GL&C.

Develops training and development strategy and curricula, partnering with Global, Legal & Compliance (GL&C) senior leadership.

Oversees all technical and professional/management development training activities.

Directs the implementation of training programs.

Integrates and works closely with other departments regarding training and development programs.

Partners with GL&C leadership team to identify performance gaps and options to address through training.

Provides leadership, direction, and support to training staff.

Ensures assessment and evaluation mechanisms are in place to measure the impact and effectiveness of training programs/materials.

Ensures all training programs are implemented effectively.

Leads the Development & Training, Instructional Design, Knowledge Management, and Legal Information Services teams.
Qualifications

Strong strategic, analytical, and critical thinking to devise effective learning and training strategies.

Advanced knowledge of instructional design, training & development with a solid understanding of adult learning.

Prior experience in the development of function or organization-wide training strategies.

Ability to utilize KPIβs and metrics to track and measure learning and development effectiveness.

Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Experience implementing and maintaining technology-based training/distance learning programs.

Working knowledge of Staff Legal roles, duties, responsibilities, and processes.

Effective people leadership skills with success in coaching and mentoring teams.
