[Hiring] Adjunct Faculty – PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision @Colorado Christian University

1wk ago - Colorado Christian University is hiring a remote Adjunct Faculty – PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. 💸 Salary: $1,000 per credit hour for graduate classes 📍Location: USA

Role Description

Colorado Christian University is seeking affiliate faculty for the PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision program. The primary role of the affiliate faculty is teaching, which focuses on:

  • Instruction
  • Assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Program evaluation

Most courses are offered in an accelerated format with synchronous and asynchronous components. Core courses are taught using blended formats designed for adult learners. This is not a full-time position.

Upon submitting a resume and application, selected candidates will complete a one-way video interview, which will be reviewed by the Human Resources department and then sent to the appropriate dean for further review. Each dean has a review and selection process, which may include in-person interviews or evaluations. All candidates will be notified of the outcome of the hiring process.

Affiliates are expected to:

  • Learn about CCU and its policies through the University’s Faculty Development team.
  • Complete a series of badges to show they have completed the training required to teach at CCU.

All affiliates are paid on a per-class contract basis and are classified as affiliate employees of CCU; they are not considered regular part-time employees. This does afford each affiliate the option to participate in the 403(b) plan, but affiliate faculty are not eligible for any matching contribution and are not eligible for other CCU benefits.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of adult learning theory in the classroom.
  • A record of active scholarship, including peer-reviewed publications or presentations at professional conferences.
  • Knowledge of ethical standards of practice for professional counseling and counselor education and supervision.
  • Superior oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Desire to be proficient in technological course assets and proficiency in appropriate Microsoft Office software.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in curriculum development and CACREP program accreditation.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring masters or doctoral students on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research projects.
  • Extensive experience in counselor supervision.
  • Leadership roles in professional counseling organizations.

  • Contribute to CCU’s mission: Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth.

  • Assess, validate, and make recommendations for student learning and for the PhD-CES program, per PhD-CES Assessment Plan, to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Identify with the counseling profession through sustained memberships in professional counseling organizations and maintenance of certifications and/or licenses.
  • Maintain clinical competency in their area of specialty practice.
  • Adhere to professional standards as established by state governing bodies, the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) best practices, and CACREP standards.
