Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, system administration, and automation, with a passion for building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our deployment processes, improving our CI/CD pipeline, and ensuring the smooth operation of our production environments.
- Create and maintain system documentation, ensuring that information is current and reflects system updates and changes
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to and resolve system issues during designated periods, ensuring the smooth operation of production environments
- Support responsibilities that intersect with multiple IDEXX development teams and business functions
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure using cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate code deployment and testing processes
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and applications
- Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- Ensure the continuous improvement of DevOps practices and processes
- Mentor and guide junior team members in best practices and technical skills
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles and systems administration
- Knowledge of Linux platforms, containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)
- Familiarity with software development processes in a hybrid-cloud environment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- A keen eye for implementing industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Requirements
- Base annual salary target: $100000 - $120000 (flexibility available)
