[Hiring] Visual Comms Resident @MAS Event and Design LLC

1wk ago - MAS Event and Design LLC is hiring a remote Visual Comms Resident. 💸 Salary: usd 22 per hour 📍Location: USA

Role Description

The MAS Residency program is a 20-week tasting of our MAS special sauce — who we are, what we do, and how we do it. It's a deep dive into the experiential marketing industry, where fresh minds can immerse themselves in our world (and our clients’). During this time, residents will have the opportunity to hone and grow their skills, while also uncovering new interests and opportunities along the way. Ultimately this is a unique chance to collaborate closely with leading experts in the field, forge invaluable professional connections, actively contribute to the agency’s perspective, and depart with substantial portfolio work.

We’re not looking for coffee runners, we’re looking for cultural collaborators! Recent grads, grad students, or anyone in the event marketing industry can apply - we're looking for standout candidates ready to go above and beyond what is asked for. We want relentless learners, envelope-pushers, and creatives who are immune to ordinary thinking. You’re not just here to sit in and watch how the magic happens; you’re here to roll up your sleeves and help shape the future for the world’s most influential brands.

This role is the ultimate hybrid for a visual storyteller who understands how to make a brand pop online and in real life. We’re looking for a visual thinker grounded in graphic design, with an appetite for storytelling and a curiosity for how ideas can grow across marketing, culture, and experiences. You’ll work across Design and Marketing, creating social and internal marketing materials while developing your broader design practice through active client and experiential projects. Along the way, you’ll gain exposure to presentation storytelling, visual systems, environmental graphics, production, and the creative workflows behind live experiences.

You’re not expected to know all of this walking in. We’re looking for curiosity, an emerging point of view, and a willingness to learn through making, feedback, repetition, and close looking.

Qualifications

  • A strong foundation in graphic design, including typography, composition, hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
  • Working proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Curiosity or experience beyond the traditional design toolkit (e.g., Figma, TouchDesigner, AI-assisted creative tools).
  • Google Workspace knowledge and an interest in building clear, compelling presentation decks.
  • A design portfolio that proves your talent for visual storytelling and graphic design.
  • An understanding of organic and paid social media analytics.
  • A drive to soak up industry knowledge, ask questions, and be proactive.
  • Interest in researching brand marketing, competitor strategy, and industry trends.
  • Experience writing and designing social-first copy, optimized for LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Interest in learning how Marketing, PR, and New Business work together.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal skills.
  • Solid time-management and basic project-management abilities.
  • Comfort with shifting priorities and evolving briefs.
  • Interest in understanding how social performance and audience behavior can inform creative decisions.

Requirements

  • Access to a personal laptop for the duration of the 20-week program.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Participate in a collaborative resident initiative that creates meaningful value for MAS.
  • Partner with Marketing to concept and design content across various channels.
  • Work alongside the Design team on active client projects.
  • Participate in regular Design critiques, mentorship, and skill-building.
  • Gain exposure to different stages of an experiential project.
  • Collaborate on the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Compile project assets, performance data, and client narratives for case studies.
  • Partner with the New Business team to design targeted marketing materials.
  • Assist in social media content scheduling and review performance analytics.
  • Keep the team inspired by sharing interesting brand activations.
  • Act as an engaged team member who contributes to MAS’s culture.

What You Can Expect in Return

  • Dedicated mentorship across both Design and Marketing.
  • Hands-on experience across internal marketing and active client work.
  • A structured Design curriculum focused on technical craft and design judgment.
  • Temporary position with potential for contract extension or conversion.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and enthusiastic team.
