Role Description
As Director of Product Design, you shape the creative vision and user desirability of our entire product portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you lead all product design efforts and guide a team of talented designers to deliver intuitive, impactful experiences that empower our users.
- Champion exceptional user experiences by weaving usability, accessibility, and aesthetics into every product interaction.
- Partner closely with product management and fellow product leaders to shape and iterate the roadmap, ensuring solutions are desirable, feasible, and viable.
- Set clear objectives, establish efficient workflows, and foster a culture of collaboration and creative excellence.
- Oversee the end-to-end design process, from ideation to implementation, ensuring cohesive, user-centered outcomes.
- Align design strategy with technical realities, market dynamics, and business goals. Confidently challenge and influence product and engineering decisions to foster healthy, constructive tension.
- Evolve and scale our user research programs and processes, embedding real user feedback into every stage of the product development process.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading product design teams, with a proven track record and a portfolio that showcases impactful, user-centered software products.
- A strong grasp of design fundamentals, systems thinking, usability, and interaction design.
- A deep understanding of the modern software developers world, including the tools they use, their workflows, and the challenges they face.
- Proven experience mentoring and growing design teams.
- Ability to thrive in remote, globally distributed teams.
- Approach problems from multiple angles, designing inclusive solutions that reflect a wide range of user needs and experiences.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to refine workflows, improve efficiency, and elevate the design practice as a whole.
Requirements
- Drive measurable outcomes through design and are fluent in leveraging various design systems and tools (e.g. Figma).
- Foster a culture of experimentation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Advocate for design through clear storytelling and influence at all levels.
