[Hiring] Paid Media Video Ad Editor @Activate Talent

Role Description

We're looking for a talented Paid Media Video Ad Editor to create scroll-stopping video ads for Meta and TikTok. You'll work closely with our marketing team to turn creative briefs, raw footage, UGC, and concepts into polished, platform-native ads designed to capture attention and drive performance. This is a project-based freelance engagement, with a heavier workload during our August-September push and a reduced workload afterward.

• Turn creative briefs and concepts into high-quality paid social video ads.
• Edit raw footage, UGC, motion graphics, and other creative assets into engaging advertisements.
• Create video ads specifically optimized for Meta and TikTok.
• Apply platform specifications and creative best practices, including aspect ratios, safe zones, hook timing, captions, pacing, and text placement.
• Develop strong hooks and engaging edits designed to stop the scroll.
• Take creative liberty when appropriate and contribute ideas beyond the original brief.
• Iterate quickly based on creative feedback and performance data.
• Maintain a consistent weekly output of 5-10 video assets.
• Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate clearly and proactively while working independently as a remote contractor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience editing paid social video ads for Meta and TikTok.
• Strong command of professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or equivalent.
• Understanding of Meta and TikTok video ad specifications and creative best practices.
• Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, storytelling, captions, transitions, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to transform raw footage and creative concepts into compelling performance-focused ads.
• Ability to work independently and consistently deliver 5-10 assets per week.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with tight turnarounds.

Requirements

• Experience working with DTC/e-commerce or performance marketing brands.
• Experience editing UGC-style ads.
• Familiarity with CapCut and other short-form editing tools.
• Understanding of performance creative and how editing choices can impact ad performance.
• Experience using performance data to inform creative iterations.
• Strong creative ideation skills and the ability to develop concepts beyond a provided brief.
