[Hiring] Packaging Designer @Mother's Earth

Role Description

We're looking for a freelance part-time packaging designer who works fast without cutting corners. You'll take briefs from our creative and marketing team and turn them into print-ready packaging and the digital assets that go with it. Most projects move from brief to final files in days, not weeks.

• Packaging for new products, new scents and range extensions, within our existing brand system
• Updates to current packaging: new claims, languages, regulatory text and formats
• Print-ready dielines and production files for our manufacturing partners in Europe and Asia
• Shipping and unboxing packaging: mailer boxes, inserts, and letterbox-friendly formats that protect the product and still feel premium
• Packaging mockups and renders for Shopify, Amazon listings and marketing
• Multilingual layouts that stay clean even with a lot of required text
• Take full ownership of artwork from concept to production-ready file, managing timelines and driving iterative improvements rather than a one-and-done handoff
• Compare design and packaging alternatives critically, recommending the best-fit solution based on brand and production requirements
• Build direct working relationships with supplier design teams (WeChat, email, video calls) to obtain samples, photos, and videos firsthand
• Spot detail-level issues quickly and escalate or resolve adjustment needs in real time to keep production on track

Qualifications

• 3+ years of packaging design experience, ideally for DTC or e-commerce brands, with work in your portfolio that has been shipped to real customers
• Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator for dielines and production files, and in Figma for concepts, presentations and collaboration
• A track record of sending production-ready files to printers or overseas manufacturers
• An understanding of sustainable materials such as paper, cardboard and compostable options, and how they print
• Experience fitting mandatory EU labelling (for example, detergent and CLP information) into a clean design is a strong plus
• 3D rendering skills (Dimension, Blender or similar) are a plus
• Price and detail oriented

• First concepts within [3–5] working days of a brief
• Revision rounds turned around within [24–48] hours
• You check your own files before handing them over: dimensions, text, bleed and colour. We shouldn't have to find your mistakes
• You flag problems early instead of waiting for the deadline
• You're available for a short check-in during CET working hours when a project is live
