[Hiring] Character Animator @Angel

Role Description

The Wingfeather Saga Animated Series at Angel Studios is looking for a CG Character Animator who is passionate, collaborative, and able to create high-quality character animation. This person will work with a variety of CG assets within Unreal Engine.

• Work with rigged characters and props to advance assigned shots through animation.
• Report directly to the Animation Director.
• Create impactful & compelling performances.
• Match the show animation style.
• React and accommodate notes and revisions.
• Deliver footage quantity at or exceeding scheduled quota.
• Attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in the English language required; additional language proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with the principles of animation, including timing and the dynamics of animals and human figures in action.
• Ability to present work and communicate openly with artistic and studio leadership.
• On-the-fly problem-solving ability with fellow animators.
• Where applicable, contribute to rig testing and character movement exploration.
• Strong knowledge of animation principles, kinematics, and physical behaviors.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Detail-oriented perspective and able to pick up on overlooked details.
• Organization and time management skills.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of information.
• Must be able to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions.
• Resourceful and able to problem-solve and manage tasks with ambiguity.
• Willing to perform an array of tasks both in and out of the office.
• Can take feedback positively and create better solutions.
• A quick study, able to pick up new skills and learn how to use new programs.
• Must participate in setting and achieving regularly scheduled and outlined objectives.
• Self-driven and highly motivated to deliver best-in-class solutions with minimal guidance.
• Recognize when you're wrong, learning from your mistakes and moving past them.

Requirements

• Ability to sit at desk and use computer for prolonged periods of time.
• Regular full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Animation production experience, particularly with animated TV series.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Tennessee resident a plus; role is remote.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
