[Hiring] Senior Risk Analyst @Zip

Role Description

As a Senior Risk Analyst at Zip, you’ll use data to directly shape how we improve repayment outcomes and evolve our collections strategy. You’ll take end-to-end ownership of high-impact analytics, turning complex data into clear insights and recommendations that improve repayment rates, optimize collection costs, and help the business identify emerging risks and opportunities. Along the way, you’ll apply SQL, Python or PySpark and AI-enabled tools to work more efficiently, challenge assumptions, and support smarter, faster decision-making.

Partnering with stakeholders across Zip and our external collections partners, you’ll have the opportunity to influence high-visibility initiatives, test and learn from new approaches, and see your analysis translate into meaningful action for both our customers and the business.

• Lead the analytics on initiatives to improve repayment rates in the short term and long term and optimize collection costs.
• Develop insights capabilities to monitor performance and proactively identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
• Identify optimization opportunities in Zip’s external debt collections strategy, monitor agency performance and work closely with the vendors.

• Partner closely with key stakeholders across the organization to drive high visibility strategic initiatives.
• Identify and drive opportunities to leverage AI to improve collections decision-making, automate insights, and optimize customer and business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, or Collections, with expert SQL skills and a passion for analyzing data in the Risk domain.
• Candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience and an advanced degree may also be considered based on the depth and relevance of their experience.
• Proven analytics experience working as a risk/data analyst. Prior experience in the finance or lending industry preferred.
• You are data-driven, eager to understand the numbers and provide meaningful insights.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL is a must, knowledge of Python or PySpark is preferred.
• Experience on data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI is a plus.
• Growth mindset and eagerness to apply AI tools to streamline workflows and improve day-to-day efficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
• Self-organized with the ability to operate independently and prioritize effectively.

• Transparent pay structure with an annual base pay range of $116,000 - $140,000
