[Hiring] Data Governance Lead @dv01

Role Description

dv01 is lifting the curtain on the largest financial market in the world: structured finance. The $16+ trillion market is the backbone of everyday activities that empower financial freedom, from consolidating credit card debt and refinancing student loans, to buying a home and starting a small business.

The Data Governance Lead will replace existing governance practices with a deliberate approach. The priorities include:

• Named ownership and stewardship across data domains
• A correct and maintained data dictionary
• A data quality framework with real metrics
• Disciplined compliance with client and third-party data terms

This role is urgent as we are building AI-powered products on top of our data. Governance is crucial for scaling our AI and data products confidently and quickly.

You will:

• Scale what we have already built for AI
• Own the Data Quality Framework and its metrics
• Establish ownership and stewardship
• Own the Data Dictionary and business definitions
• Own data rights in practice
• Run it like a program

Qualifications

• 7+ years of expertise in data governance, data quality, or data management
• Proven experience in building programs from the ground up
• Meticulous and exceptionally organized
• Fluent in technical conversations
• Experienced in hands-on governance and data quality using purpose-built tooling
• Strategic about the intersection of AI and data governance
• Knowledgeable across core governance domains and key regulatory frameworks

Requirements

• Experience managing data intended for external customer consumption (nice to have)
• Experience at a startup or startup-like environment (nice to have)
• Experience with structured finance and lending data (nice to have)
• Experience building scalable web applications using TypeScript, Soda, and deal studio (nice to have)
