[Hiring] Senior Technical Support Analyst @Sovos Compliance

Role Description

At Sovos, we're building solutions that help businesses navigate the complexities of tax and regulatory compliance across the globe. As a Senior SAP ABAP Support Analyst, you'll be a technical expert diagnosing issues with Sovos e-invoicing and compliance solutions running inside customer SAP environments (ECC and S/4HANA). You'll combine the ability to read, debug, and trace ABAP code with SAP FI and/or SD functional knowledge to find the root cause of problems for enterprise customers, then route each case to the right team for resolution.

• Handle escalated, complex technical support cases that require deep product knowledge, ABAP debugging, and advanced troubleshooting in customer SAP systems.
• Diagnose application defects, integration failures, performance issues, and production incidents, performing technical root-cause analysis across SAP, XML, middleware, tax engines, and government interfaces.
• Determine whether each issue is a core product problem or a customer-specific customization or configuration problem, and hand it off to Product/Engineering or Professional Services with a clear, documented diagnosis.
• Trace fiscal and tax data from SAP SD, MM, and FI documents through to the generated electronic fiscal documents, identifying where data, configuration, or logic breaks the process.
• Debug and trace ABAP code, analyze dumps, application logs, and job logs to identify the root cause of issues in customer SAP systems, and troubleshoot SAP interfaces (IDoc, RFC, BAPI, ALE, SOAP Web Services, REST APIs, OData) used in e-invoicing and fiscal integrations.
• Analyze and validate XML-based electronic documents against their schemas, including Brazilian fiscal XML structures, to diagnose transformation and data errors, and leverage AI-assisted tools to improve the efficiency and quality of diagnostics.
• Collaborate with Professional Services, Product, Engineering, and customer stakeholders to resolve cases, communicate diagnoses clearly, and support customers during testing, go-live, hyper-care, rollouts, releases, and patches.
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides, identify recurring issues, share trends and recommendations, and mentor colleagues through hands-on guidance.

Qualifications

• You've built solid experience in SAP ABAP debugging, performance analysis, and troubleshooting in ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
• You have strong functional knowledge of SAP FI and/or SD modules, including how fiscal and tax data flows through business documents.
• You bring deep knowledge of Brazilian fiscal localization and electronic fiscal documents (NF-e, NFS-e, CT-e), and understand how they integrate with SAP systems and government authorities.
• You're skilled in troubleshooting SAP interfaces (IDoc, RFC, BAPI, ALE, SOAP Web Services, REST APIs, OData) and XML-based data structures and transformations.
• You have a track record of diagnosing complex, mission-critical issues for enterprise customers and communicating technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You're comfortable with AI-assisted workflows and tools to enhance diagnostic efficiency and quality.
• Fluent Portuguese and working English proficiency required.
