Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Virtual Dental Receptionist to support front-desk operations.

• Previous dental work experience is a MUST.
• The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, skilled in converting new-patient enquiries, and detail-oriented in managing appointments, follow-ups, and missed calls.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Handle new-patient calls and general front-desk enquiries
• Convert enquiries into booked appointments and help address patient objections
• Assist with treatment plan and payment arrangement discussions
• Manage scheduling, recall, insurance, and patient records in Open Dental
• Follow up on all missed calls, voicemails, and unresolved enquiries
• Update AI scripts, correct errors, and improve call handling
• Escalate urgent or sensitive calls to the dental team
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up with patients

Qualifications

• Dental work experience is required
• Proven sales and closing ability, particularly with new-patient enquiries
• Strong experience handling patient objections and treatment or payment discussions
• Hands-on experience with Open Dental, including scheduling, ledger, insurance, and recall
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Clear and professional spoken English
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
• Reliable home internet with a wired connection and backup internet
• Reliable backup power

Package & Remuneration

• CAD 1,700 per month
• Approximately R19,715 per month, depending on the prevailing exchange rate.
• The salary will be paid in Canadian dollars, so the ZAR equivalent may fluctuate slightly based on currency movements.
