[Hiring] Managing Consultant, MEQI Strategic Partnerships @BME Strategies

2mths ago - BME Strategies is hiring a remote Managing Consultant, MEQI Strategic Partnerships. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 99,840 - 162,240 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

The Managing Consultant, MEQI Strategic Partnerships is a new, senior-level, dedicated business development role supporting BME's Monitoring, Evaluation and Quality Improvement (MEQI) practice, which delivers participatory local evidence, evidence at scale, continuous improvement, and data systems support to public health clients. This role will support pipeline development relevant to adjacent practice areas including clinical care access data and AI-assisted analytics.

This role is managed by the MEQI Practice Area Lead and works in close partnership with MEQI staff. Additionally, this role collaborates closely with MEQI pillar leadership and technical teams to transform client insights into well-scoped, deliverable solutions.

  • Requires a dedicated business development capacity combined with a strong technical understanding.
  • Primary market focus spans public health data modernization, health information exchange (HIE), AI-assisted public health analytics, and RHTP-aligned technology and performance measurement.
  • Ideal for someone whose career has moved across public health and health IT.
  • Possesses the strategic instinct to analyze conferences, procurement landscapes, and partner discussions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in business development, strategic partnership, or client relationship management in health IT, public health consulting, or a closely adjacent sector required (10+ years preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years people management experience, with a minimum of 3 years project management/leadership experience.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Informatics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years client-facing experience, including 2 or more in project leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated network in one or more of the following: state public health data modernization, health information exchange (HIE), CDC PHIG or RHTP-aligned technology, or AI-assisted analytics for health agencies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to build credibility quickly with both public health and health IT audiences.

Requirements

  • Experience navigating state government procurement environments and multi-party teaming structures.
  • Track record of converting relationship presence into qualified pipeline and eventual contract awards.
  • Experience working in or alongside technical consulting teams without holding technical ownership of the work.
  • Strong written communication skills for BD materials, capability briefs, and external-facing content.
  • Disciplined pipeline management: able to qualify, prioritize, and hand off opportunities rather than accumulating volume.
  • Familiarity with public health data systems, HIE landscapes, and federal data modernization frameworks (e.g., PHIG, TEFCA, RHTP technology requirements).
  • Understanding of state government procurement processes and the teaming dynamics common in public health consulting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Comfortable working across multiple BME teams with distinct priorities.
  • Alignment with BME’s shared values.

Benefits

  • 6+ weeks total leave, including paid vacation, sick time, personal leave, and floating holidays.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, with 80% employer-paid coverage for the employee & 70% employer-paid coverage for dependents.
  • Health FSA and dependent care FSA.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • One-time technology stipend.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • The salary range for this position is $99,840 - $162,240 annually.
