  • Be responsible for the quality of support provided to individual Hillels and for creating more consistent, efficient, and measurable approaches across the movement.
  • Work closely with senior fundraising leaders and field partners to align local and central advancement efforts, build stronger donor pipelines, and increase philanthropic investment across the movement.

This position is fully remote for eligible candidates based in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Built a 15+ year career in advancement, fundraising, operations, consulting, or related work, with significant senior leadership and management responsibilities.
  • Produced measurable growth in fundraising, organizational performance, or both.
  • Led and developed teams across multiple organizations, markets, or communities.
  • Designed and scaled a successful program, service, pilot, or operating model.
  • Helped organizations improve fundraising performance or navigate financial or organizational challenges.
  • Engaged boards, campaign leaders, and other volunteers as active partners in fundraising and organizational leadership.
  • Managed complex initiatives requiring coordination across teams, functions, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of advancement, including annual fundraising, major gifts, donor development, stewardship, campaigns, and advancement operations.
  • The ability to connect strategy and execution by setting a clear direction, building the systems that support it, and holding teams accountable for results.
  • An operational mindset and the ability to translate promising ideas into practical, sustainable services that can be used across the movement.
  • Strong judgment on when a Hillel needs direct support, when a shared solution is appropriate, and what is required to scale a successful pilot.
  • An understanding of the roles boards and lay leaders play in fundraising, governance, and long-term sustainability.
  • A collaborative approach to working with donors and prospects whose interests may include campus Hillels, Hillel International, or both.
  • The ability to build trust with campus executives, advancement professionals, board members, donors, and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills and the ability to use data to inform decisions, set priorities, and measure results.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work within a network of independent organizations with different needs, resources, and community dynamics.
  • Familiarity with Hillel or the Jewish communal sector is welcome but not required.
  • A commitment to Hillel’s mission and respect for the diversity of Jewish life are essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $165,000- $190,000.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability insurance, Flexible Spending accounts, generous vacation and sick time, and parental leave.
  • Professional development, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities.
  • The opportunity to work with dedicated colleagues at Hillel International and across the Hillel movement.
  • A remote work environment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and based in the United States.
  • Regular travel to campus Hillels, donor communities, conferences, and other Hillel gatherings.
