Role Description

The Transportation Coordinator II provides front line support to the Transportation Analysts and Transportation Manager, coordinating shipments and maintaining system data so rates and transit times stay accurate.

• Enters shipments into the Transportation Management System, TMS.
• Tracks and traces shipments in transit and resolves issues as they arise.
• Coordinates Large Scale project shipments from import through delivery to site.
• Handles tasks and projects with a higher level of complexity.
• Provides training and direction to Transportation Coordinators.
• Tracks KPIs for bill of lading and label creation, and for freight quotes provided to the sales organization.
• Provides rate quotes.
• Maintains records of items transported, and reports on delivery times and delays.
• Acts as liaison between customers and carriers to keep shipments moving smoothly.
• Supports TMS maintenance to keep rates and transit times accurate.
• Supports customs related activities as needed.
• Other duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in a coordination or administrative role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English.
• Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Experience in a transportation or logistics department.
• Experience with SAP or a Transportation Management System.
• Creative thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Extent of responsibility: Regional.
