[Hiring] Transformation Expert @Rural PM Academy

Role Description

You’ll design and support transformation efforts across the agrifood system. That includes:

• Small and mid sized farms
• Food processing operations
• Restaurants, hotels and HORECA professionals
• Public and private food service institutions

You’ll join a small team working on learning journeys, site based collaborations and strategic support. We don’t offer one size fits all answers and we don’t work top down. Most of what we do is co-created with the people directly involved.

This is a role for someone who understands how systems change happens. Not in theory/textbooks but in kitchens, fields and rooms where real decisions get made.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and guide processes that support a shift to more circular, sustainable operations
• Work with farmers, chefs, managers and food teams to rethink how they source, produce and manage
• Develop practical materials (maps, frameworks, tools) that people can use and adapt
• Bring grounded, live insights into policy conversations and networks
• Stay close to the field and keep our work practical, useful and honest

Qualifications

• You could be just starting your career and full of curiosity or you may have years of experience and want to apply your skills in more hands on ways.
• You’re the kind of person who notices what others miss, works with care and keeps the bigger picture in mind.
• You likely have experience in one or more of these areas:
  • Agriculture or regenerative farming
  • Food processing or kitchen operations
  • Restaurant, hospitality or HORECA management
  • Food systems research, policy or strategy
  • Systems thinking and adaptive ways of working
• You have supported teams through change, especially toward more sustainable or community based practices.
• You communicate clearly and thoughtfully, even when things are complex.
• You work well independently, but enjoy collaborating in small, diverse teams.
• You care deeply about food, people and place and how they connect.

Benefits

• We offer a competitive salary based on experience and local context. We’re open about how we set rates and aim for fairness across roles.
• We work across time zones and sites so flexibility is part of how we operate. You’ll have autonomy to shape your schedule while staying connected to the team and the work.
• Whether it’s on a farm, in a kitchen or with a cooperative, you’ll spend time in unique environments, working with frontline stakeholders.
• We’re a tight group where everyone has a voice. You’ll help shape the direction of the work.
• We approach learning as part of the job. Through collaborations, site visits and projects, you’ll keep growing alongside others doing the same.
• If you're looking for depth this is a place to do work that matters.
• No perfect CV needed. If this sounds like the kind of work you want to be part of practical and rooted in impactful change we’d love to hear from you.
