Role Description

The Sr Strategic Commercial Banking Consultant serves as a highly specialized subject matter expert responsible for guiding the successful implementation and optimization of Alkami’s commercial banking capabilities across complex and strategic financial institution engagements. This role applies broad expertise in commercial banking operations, business process consulting, implementation strategy, and client advisory services to ensure Alkami’s platform aligns with customer operational models, regulatory considerations, and business banking objectives.

• Lead strategic commercial banking implementation engagements by advising financial institution stakeholders on solution design, operational alignment, and best practices for Alkami’s business banking capabilities.
• Serve as the senior subject matter expert for Alkami commercial banking functionality including Business ACH, Business Wires, Business Admin, Business Reports, BAI2, Limit Management, Import Mapper, Householding, and Auto Billing.
• Partner with executive customer stakeholders by analyzing complex commercial banking operational models, identifying business requirements, and recommending scalable implementation approaches aligned with customer goals and regulatory considerations.
• Drive strategic solution design activities by mapping client commercial banking operations to Alkami platform capabilities, identifying process gaps, and recommending workflow, product, or operational improvements that support long-term customer success.
• Influence implementation strategy and customer onboarding outcomes by advising cross-functional implementation teams on business banking operational impacts, configuration decisions, and customer readiness requirements.
• Lead hosted commercial user acceptance testing activities by facilitating testing sessions, validating business workflows, refining platform configurations, and reducing operational issues prior to production deployment.
• Serve as the primary liaison between customer stakeholders and internal implementation, technical consulting, engineering, and product teams by translating business banking requirements into actionable technical and operational recommendations.
• Provide thought leadership on commercial banking operations and platform utilization by advising customers and internal stakeholders on best practices, evolving industry trends, and operational optimization opportunities.
• Analyze complex implementation challenges and operational risks by evaluating customer processes, integration dependencies, business workflows, and organizational impacts to develop strategic mitigation recommendations.
• Drive cross-functional coordination efforts by aligning implementation priorities, operational readiness activities, and customer expectations across internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Influence Alkami product strategy and roadmap discussions by communicating customer feedback, operational pain points, feature enhancement opportunities, and evolving commercial banking requirements to Product and Engineering leadership.
• Develop scalable implementation guidance, operational frameworks, and best practices documentation that improve consistency, customer adoption, and implementation efficiency across commercial banking engagements.
• Mentor and guide implementation consultants and customer-facing teams by sharing expertise related to business banking operations, client advisory approaches, and commercial implementation methodologies.
• Support strategic customer relationships by serving as a trusted advisor during escalations, operational reviews, and implementation planning discussions involving executive stakeholders.
• Contribute to organizational growth and operational excellence initiatives by influencing commercial banking consulting methodologies, implementation standards, and customer engagement strategies that improve client outcomes and delivery scalability.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience leading commercial banking consulting engagements, enterprise banking implementations, treasury management operations, or client-facing business banking transformation initiatives within fintech, digital banking, financial services, or related environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Banking, or a related field.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in commercial banking operations, treasury management services, and business banking implementation practices.
• Advanced knowledge of commercial banking products, workflows, and operational processes including ACH, wires, reporting, limit management, and related banking services.
• Strong ability to analyze complex customer operational models and translate business requirements into scalable implementation solutions.
• Experience leading strategic customer engagements involving executive stakeholders, operational transformation, and enterprise implementation initiatives.
• Ability to influence implementation strategy, product direction, and operational best practices across cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across technical, operational, and executive audiences.
• Experience facilitating complex user acceptance testing, operational readiness activities, and customer advisory sessions.
• Recognized subject matter expertise in commercial banking consulting, implementation delivery, and customer operations optimization.
