Role Description

The Senior Medical Science Liaison, (hereafter Sr. MSL) will be responsible for managing a company product(s) within a defined territory for SpringWorks Therapeutics Europe GmbH (“Springworks Therapeutics”). This entails establishing and maintaining key scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within their territory and serving as a scientific expert to the medical community and facilitating the appropriate exchange of scientific information.

  • Develop and maintain an advanced scientific, medical, and product knowledge base
  • Communicate key insights learned and disseminate critical scientific data to external stakeholders
  • Ensure timely and appropriate input on the field medical engagement plans in support of clinical development and commercialization programs
  • Assist, lead, and drive the support of the company’s clinical trials in partnership with the clinical development team
  • Master the MSL responsibilities and take on additional leadership roles on projects and initiatives
  • Work independently with little direction/oversight and assist the Country Medical Director as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify KOLs and establish and maintain strong and deep scientific relationships with KOLs across multi-specialty disciplines
  • Serve as a scientific expert to the medical community and facilitate the appropriate exchange of scientific information
  • Communicate experts’ opinion and feedback on new data and clinical trends to Medical Affairs
  • Act as primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated research
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Operations organization to enhance patient enrollment in company-sponsored clinical trials
  • Serve as medical lead and provide scientific support at medical congresses
  • Lead national projects such as national congresses, PAG engagement
  • Be familiar with country specific pharma rules and regulations
  • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions
  • Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with regional and national strategy
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical decision makers
  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop strategy and generation of health economic and outcomes data
  • Serve as mentor for other new hires and/or less-experienced MSLs
  • Manage/lead relevant medical activities/projects

Role Requirements

  • Education: Advanced Scientific degree or equivalent experience required (MD, PhD, PharmD)
  • Minimum of 5 years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Rare disease experience preferred, particularly in Oncology and/or Neurosciences
  • Demonstrated mastery of effectively presenting clinical/scientific information
  • Expert level proficiency with business software including Veeva CRM or comparable tools
  • Ability to understand, review, and communicate complex technical concepts
  • Working knowledge of relevant national compliance guidance for pharmaceutical manufacturers
  • Leadership skills including experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship management skills
  • Ability to thrive in conditions of uncertainty
  • Fluent in local language(s) and a high level of English proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule
  • Strong personal initiative, acts as a team player, and demonstrates flexibility
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate effectively in a remote hybrid work environment
  • Ability to travel occasionally including overnight stay driven by business need

Physical Requirements of Position

  • MSL is required to live within the territory with which they liaise
  • Valid driver’s license required and must be in good standing
  • Will require a high level of travel (~70%), mainly within Country
