[Hiring] Senior Lead Architect - SAP BRIM @Lumen Technologies

Role Description

Lumen is seeking a Senior Lead Architect - SAP BRIM to lead the architecture, design, and modernization of our customer financial platforms supporting billing, invoicing, payments, collections, and accounts receivable operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on architect with deep expertise in SAP BRIM Convergent Invoicing (CI), FI-CA, and Convergent Mediation (CM) who can partner with business and technology teams to define solutions, drive architecture decisions, and deliver scalable enterprise platforms. Experience with Subscription Order Management (SOM) and Convergent Charging (CC) is highly desirable. You will play a key leadership role in shaping the future of Lumen's billing and financial systems while supporting large-scale transformation and modernization initiatives.

This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and design for SAP BRIM with primary focus on:
  • Convergent Invoicing (CI)
  • FI-CA (Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable)
  • Convergent Mediation (CM)
• Provide architecture leadership for:
  • Billing and invoicing
  • Payments and cash application
  • Collections and dunning
  • Customer statements
  • Adjustments, refunds, and write-offs
  • Cash accounting and financial reconciliation
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead architecture workshops, technical discovery sessions, design reviews, and solution discussions.
• Design and govern integrations between SAP BRIM and:
  • SAP S/4HANA FICO
  • Salesforce and CRM platforms
  • Payment gateways and banking systems
  • Customer portals and digital channels
  • Enterprise data and reporting platforms
• Define API, event-driven, and batch integration patterns using SAP Integration Suite (CPI), REST services, messaging platforms, and file-based interfaces.
• Support vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts, RFP responses, and strategic technology initiatives.
• Mentor development teams and establish architecture standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field.
• 10+ years of enterprise application, solution architecture, or SAP experience.
• 5+ years of SAP BRIM experience with deep expertise in:
  • Convergent Invoicing (CI)
  • FI-CA
  • Convergent Mediation (CM)
• Strong understanding of:
  • Billing and invoicing
  • Accounts receivable
  • Payments and collections
  • Cash application
  • Cash accounting
  • SAP FICO integration
• Experience integrating SAP solutions with external platforms, payment processors, banks, CRM systems, and customer-facing applications.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead technical workshops and convert business requirements into practical solution designs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP SOM and Convergent Charging (CC).
• Telecommunications, subscription billing, or recurring revenue industry experience.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite (CPI), APIs, Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience supporting billing modernization, ERP transformation, or large-scale integration initiatives.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, automation, and AI-enabled business solutions.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

• $132,232 - $176,310 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY
• $138,844 - $185,124 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI
• $145,456 - $193,940 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA
