Role Description

At Abbott Cancer Diagnostics, we're cancer fighters. Our mission is to change lives through advances in cancer detection and treatment guidance, and ultimately to help eradicate the disease and the suffering it causes. As a Senior Application Analyst, you will work on business systems design and configuration, upgrades, and improvements for assigned technology platforms. You will be the primary support contact for application end-users, identifying and resolving issues that arise in the application area.

  • Perform impact analysis of desired changes, build and test systems changes.
  • Identify areas of improvement associated with platform performance and opportunities to enable business processes and requirements.
  • Act as a mentor to more junior analysts on the team.
  • Support questions and delegate activities to other analysts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions, either in an application analyst or project delivery role.
  • Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following areas: patient identification workflows in the healthcare setting, revenue cycle, CRM & MyChart, Patient Registration, or lab order entry.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain relevant Epic software application(s) certification within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Requirements

  • Lead the estimation of enhancement or support requests.
  • Guide workflow design, configure and test system changes, and analyze technical issues.
  • Liaise with business systems stakeholders and software vendor’s implementation staff.
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows.
  • Participate in training and work with end users.
  • Troubleshoot problems and questions.
  • Provide end-user support for issues entered into tracking systems.
  • Review the status of projects and issues with project leadership.
  • Assign or delegate configuration or other activities to Application Analysts or Managed Services team members.
  • Act as delegate for Applications Manager for incident or problem resolution.
  • Provide mentorship for other peers and leadership to solve problems.
  • Be a leader on internal process design and documentation.
  • Ability to work within normal business hours, as well as on-call, with potential for nights and weekends.

  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of working time.

Benefits

  • The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00.
  • In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
