Role Description

The Regional Director, Intermountain West will serve as JED’s representative and relationship-builder across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. This is a hybrid strategic and operational leadership role:

• Build JED’s brand and network across the region.
• Generate and cultivate new partnership and business opportunities.
• Lead and support the region’s Consultants delivering JED’s District Mental Health Initiative (DMHI) and other school-based programming.
• Represent JED’s work to education leaders, state agencies, coalitions, funders, and AFSP chapters.
• Coordinate closely with JED’s School Partnerships team to convert opportunities into signed engagements.

This is a remote position with regular travel across Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming (approximately 40–50%) and periodic travel to JED’s NYC headquarters.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in PK–12 mental health programming, youth-serving nonprofit work, or education leadership, with a focus on suicide prevention preferred.
• Minimum of 2+ years managing teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Deep knowledge of the Idaho, Montana, and/or Wyoming education and youth mental health landscape.
• Demonstrated track record of building relationships with state agencies, nonprofits, and funders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM/project management tools.
• Passion for youth mental health and alignment with JED’s Guiding Principles and Shared Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Antiracism.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $89,000 - $119,000 per year.
