Role Description

The Logistics Agent connects with carriers, drivers, and customers through phone calls and emails to provide clear shipment updates. The role involves:

• Checking shipment progress and updating delivery schedules.
• Communicating changes to the operations team to respond to delays accurately.
• Collaborating with dispatch contacts and customer service colleagues.
• Working fully remote from home in Minnesota, United States.
• Committing to a 40-hour work week with varying days and shift times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required; related logistics, transportation support, or customer contact experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of shipment milestones, carrier and driver contacts, estimated arrival times, and delivery schedules, or willingness to learn.
• Comfort with learning shipment tracking systems and spreadsheet tools.
• Clear telephone and email communication skills.
• Ability to distinguish confirmed updates from estimates and seek guidance when needed.
• Organizational skills to track inquiries and share handover notes.
• A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and quiet private workspace.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Requirements

• Review incoming shipment inquiries from various sources.
• Check shipment status in a transportation management system.
• Contact carriers and drivers for updates.
• Handle shipment update calls through a contact-center phone system.
• Enter verified status changes and contact notes in the shipment record.
• Communicate confirmed shipment information to customers and the operations team.
• Follow up on missing updates and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain shipment tracking lists using spreadsheets.
• Confirm delivery status and close completed inquiries.
• Meet quality expectations for accurate entries and timely responses.
