Role Description

The Grants Program Liaison assists the Grants Team Leader with the overall activities of the federally funded, congressionally mandated Grant Programs, which include:

• Recreational Trails (RTP)
• Transportation Alternatives (TA)
• Congressionally Designated Spending (CDS)
• Scenic Byways (SB)

This position involves:

• Providing technical assistance to internal and external customers.
• Monitoring projects to ensure compliance with program guidelines and federal and state laws and regulations.
• Educating and providing in-depth guidance to project sponsors regarding:
• Project scope and development
• Proposal content
• Budget elements
• Learning and understanding federal and state regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Working with a team of engineering, environmental, planning, and other transportation-related professionals.
• Assisting with the review of project applications to make funding recommendations to the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Grants Selection Committee.
• Maintaining a comprehensive database for project information gathering and dissemination.
• Conducting on-site inspections for oversight of project implementation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Five (5) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
• Two and a half (2.5) years of experience in grant administration and/or monitoring grants (Selective Qualification).

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience working independently and safely in an outdoor environment.
• Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience managing or working with grant funded programs or projects.

Licenses & Certifications

• Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
