Role Description

As a Fundraising Manager in our Trusts, Foundations and Government team, you’ll manage an established and varied portfolio of trusts, foundations and public-sector funders, grants and prospects.

• Involved throughout the fundraising relationship.
• Develop compelling applications with colleagues.
• Manage existing grants and their reporting requirements.
• Plan thoughtful stewardship to help funders understand the impact of their support.
• Inherit established relationships and a developed pipeline of opportunities.
• Identify appropriate new prospects and develop existing relationships further.
• Build experience across capital, programme and core funding.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Science Museum Group.
• Produce accurate and engaging reports for funders.
• Work closely with colleagues across Fundraising and Partnerships.
• Join an experienced specialist team with established knowledge and relationships.
• Role can be based at the National Railway Museum in York, the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, or the Science Museum in London.
• Regular travel to other Science Museum Group sites will be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience of securing five-figure investment, focusing on trusts, foundations and/or public-sector funding.
• Experience gained within the cultural sector or a similar environment.
• Understanding of grant management and stakeholder needs throughout the funding relationship.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and work with people at different levels.
• Organized and comfortable managing competing priorities.
• Good judgement and discretion when handling funder, prospect and organizational information.
• Experience in the cultural or not-for-profit sector is useful.
• Knowledge or experience of the cultural sector in Northern England is desirable.
