[Hiring] Freight and Business Analyst Engagement @IBMC

Role Description

IBMC is assisting a fast-growing UK third-party logistics (3PL) and e-commerce fulfillment group in hiring a Freight and Business Analyst Engagement. This role will be managed through IBMC as a foundational operational seat with a mandate to build, document, and scale the freight and rate optimization desk.

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and process-minded Freight and Business Analyst to manage a dual-mandate role:

• 60% focused on freight operations & carrier rate procurement
• 40% focused on business analysis, process documentation, and billable activity capture

You will leverage consolidated parcel and freight volumes to:

• Tender lanes
• Benchmark rates
• Negotiate commercial improvements with final mile carriers

Additionally, you will:

• Turn undocumented operational knowledge into structured SOPs
• Implement pre-despatch checklists to eliminate shipment errors
• Conduct cost/process analysis directly for executive leadership

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics procurement, carrier rate negotiation, or 3PL operations
• Strong Business Operations Analyst with an agency/consulting background
• Strong process mapping skills
• Desire to learn freight commercial operations
• High proficiency in data analysis, rate benchmarking, cost modeling, and constructing structured management reports
• Proven track record in writing SOPs, process workflows, and building Notion or workspace knowledge libraries
• C1 Level or above in English (both written and spoken)
• Full-shift availability across UK business hours (09:00 to 17:00 UK time)

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with WMS software (Mintsoft or comparable)
• Experience with carrier portals (DHL, Evri, etc.)
• Experience with freight rate databases
