Role Description

Enterprise IT Leaders (EITL) is an executive-level advisory service that delivers expert insight and guidance tailored to each member's context and most critical initiatives. EITL comprises 7 domains that cover areas within IT: Applications, Data & Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure & Operations, Program & Portfolio Management, Security & Risk, Sourcing & Vendor Management.

Gartner’s Executive Partners, who specialize in one of these domains, equip business leaders with indispensable insights, advice and tools to achieve their mission-critical priorities today and build the successful organizations of tomorrow.

What you will do:

• Manage a portfolio of 25-30 clients, typically Enterprise Application/Software Engineering leaders reporting to CIOs, from Fortune 500 organizations and government agencies.
• Deliver value through regular briefings, a mix of on-site and virtual workshops, roundtables, webinars, and by attending relevant Gartner events.
• Use your knowledge and expertise, along with additional Gartner resources and research, to coach and mentor your clients on critical initiatives and challenges within the Applications space.
• Collaborate closely with several internal Gartner teams, including Sales teams, Analysts, Client Managers, and peers across other EITL domains.
• Maintain a high level of Executive presence and ability to build trust and deliver value in a client-facing position.
• Responsible for member retention and contributing toward growth in the region through direct support of Gartner Sales in prospect cultivation, account plan development, and value demonstration activities.
• Operate predominantly from home as an individual contributor managing your own desk and administrative tasks, delivering value to your client portfolio in a virtual manner.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in the Applications space, including 10+ years as a Senior Applications Leader OR Software Engineering Leader in roles such as Director or VP of Enterprise Applications/SWEL (reporting directly into a CIO) for a Fortune 1000 company.
• Experience in executive-level roles within consulting, sales, or customer-facing positions.
• Expertise with modern enterprise application lifecycle management approaches, including:
• Moving from a Project to Product Focused Organization.
• AI usage in the software development lifecycle.
• Leading a Product Organization.
• Building Digital Platform(s).
• Transforming Solution Delivery (Agile, DevOps, Design Thinking).
• ERP Transformation Initiatives.
• Customer Experience (Sales, Service, Digital Commerce).
• Application Strategy.
• Application Rationalization.
• Application Organizational Design.
• Business Value Realization.
• Implementing and Managing Cloud and Integration Platforms.
• Org Design and common Applications Operating Models.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
