RCX Sports Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation committed to providing children in local communities with access to sports. We believe in the power of sport to build character, foster teamwork, and instill discipline, all while providing a sense of community. Our mission is to make sports accessible to all children by providing programming to positively impact youth sports, subsidizing fees for kids to play and providing financial assistance to league operators to ensure they can offer these opportunities.

The Executive Director will be responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the RCX Sports Foundation. This position requires a highly motivated and visionary leader with strong expertise in non-profit management, sports programming, and community development. The Executive Director will work closely with our professional sports leagues, their member teams, and community-based clubs to design and execute programs that provide children across the country with greater access to organized sports. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategic Oversight: 
    • Oversight of the Foundation’s strategic plan, goal setting and economics keeping in mind the overarching goals of the Foundation, and ensuring board alignment 
    • Develop and implement strategies to expand the foundation’s impact, ensuring sports access for children in underserved communities.  
    • Lead and manage all aspects of the foundation’s operations, including program development, staff management, league operations and fundraising efforts. 
    • Foster strong relationships with board members, donors, community leaders, league operators, and other key stakeholders. 
    • Maintain a strong understanding of nonprofit policy and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including 501(c)(3) guidelines. 
  • Program Development & Execution: 
    • Collaborate with professional sports leagues and their member teams/clubs to design and execute effective programs that increase access to sports for children. 
    • Oversee the development and management of subsidy programs for both kids and league operators, ensuring that the funds are being used effectively and efficiently to meet the foundation’s goals. 
    • Track the success of programs and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives. 
  • Partnership Development & Community Outreach: 
    • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with sports organizations, local communities, and other non-profits to enhance the foundation’s visibility and impact. 
    • Engage with community leaders, schools, and other organizations to expand the reach of our programs. 
    • Act as the foundation’s primary spokesperson at events, in media, and with stakeholders. 
  • Fundraising & Financial Management: 
    • Overall ownership of RCX Foundation financials, including reporting functions and budget projections 
    • Work with the board of directors to develop budgets and financial plans that ensure the foundation’s financial health and sustainability.  
    • Maintain financial oversight of all programs, ensuring funds are appropriately allocated to maximize impact.  
    • Lead fundraising efforts to ensure the foundation has the resources necessary to fulfill its mission, including identifying and securing new funding opportunities. 
  • Board/Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: 
    • Responsible for regular reporting to the Board of Directors, including financial and impact reports to gauge overall effectiveness of the Foundation its programs 
    • Build functions to collect data and information relevant to reporting and to the programs within the RCX Foundation 
    • Establishing communication cadences and expectations of the board and its members 
  • Team Culture & Performance:
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages professional development, teamwork, and innovation among staff members
    • Monitor team performance metrics and implement improvement strategies as needed to drive organizational success. Mentor and provide guidance to direct reports, cultivating strong leadership skills and promoting succession planning within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by soliciting feedback from team members and stakeholders. Implement best practices in team management and goal execution, driving innovation in processes and strategies.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in the non-profit industry with 7 or more years of experience in a senior leadership role within a non-profit
  • Demonstrated success in building partnerships and programs in sports, community engagement, or youth development.
  • Expertise in non-profit policies and best practices.
  • Proven experience in fundraising strategies, donor cultivation, grant writing, and corporate partnerships.
  • Strong communication skills with effective public speaking and writing abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage daily operations effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Passionate about sports and increasing youth sports access in underserved communities.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and team-building skills.
  • Knowledgeable in financial management and budgeting
  • Familiarity with sports league operations (Preferred) 

Additional Position Details:

  • Travel: Less than 10%
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (Occasional nights and weekends as needed)
  • Work Location: Remote
  • Reports to: RCX Sports Foundation Board of Directors
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This role will oversee full-time direct reports
