[Hiring] EDI Analyst @The Harbor Health Team

Role Description

Harbor Health is seeking an EDI Analyst to help build out our EDI operations function, supporting enrollment and claims transactions across our health plan. This is a foundational, hands-on role at a growth-stage payvider.

• Process enrollment files and resolve errors with employer groups and HRIS vendors.
• Implement new EDI connections as Harbor Health grows.
• Test and onboard new trading partner connections.
• Build out documentation and companion guides.
• Monitor file transmission and acknowledgments.
• Partner with Claims and Benefits & Configuration teams to ensure accurate enrollment data.
• Requires deep familiarity with 834 (enrollment) and 837 (claims) EDI files and the ASC X12 standard.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience working with 834 and 837 EDI files.
• Deep understanding of file structure and segments.
• Experience with ASC X12 EDI standard and HIPAA transaction set compliance.
• Experience testing and onboarding new EDI trading partner connections.
• Familiarity with functional acknowledgments (e.g., 997/999).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using AI tools and various proprietary systems.

Requirements

• Implement 834 enrollment file connections for new employer groups.
• Help build and document EDI processes and structure.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation within EDI and enrollment operations.
• Coordinate testing and certification of new trading partner connections.
• Create and maintain companion guides and file specifications.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) on new or modified EDI file feeds.
• Monitor file transmission and processing against expected turnaround times.
• Track recurring enrollment error patterns and surface trends.
• Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation of EDI processes.
• Apply ASC X12 EDI standards and HIPAA compliance requirements.
• Serve as a point of contact between Harbor Health and EDI vendors/clearinghouses.
• Partner with Claims and Benefits & Configuration teams.
