[Hiring] Director, Technology @New Teacher Center

Role Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Technology and Impact, the Director, Technology leads NTC’s daily technology operations and translates organizational strategy into secure, reliable, and efficient system operations. As the operational lead for technology innovation, the Director convenes NTC’s cross-functional AI Taskforce, leads discovery for standalone AI tools, and integrates high-leverage digital solutions that reduce administrative friction, protect data privacy, and empower staff to deliver high-quality educator support.

What Will You Do

• Technology Strategy and Operational Innovation:
  • Lead the operational testing and integration of emerging technologies.
  • Serve as the lead coordinator for the internal AI Taskforce.
  • Partner with Program and other internal teams to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies.
  • Monitor EdTech trends and digital tools, providing tactical recommendations to leadership.
• Enterprise Systems, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure:
  • Define and oversee NTC’s enterprise SaaS architecture and integration standards.
  • Manage and enforce NTC’s organizational cybersecurity protocols.
  • Maintain IT policies, hardware lifecycle standards, and business continuity protocols.
• User Enablement and Vendor Management:
  • Oversee high-level relationships, contract renewals, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
• Organizational Leadership and People Management:
  • Strategically align the team’s direction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Adapt with courage and creatively navigate shifting dynamics.
  • Champion a strong organizational culture by embodying NTC’s Core Values.
  • Serve as a vital link between leadership and their team.
  • Cultivate growth through ongoing coaching and feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Proven track record of navigating emerging tech trends.
• Deep understanding of AI frameworks and the ethical implications of AI in education.
• Experience in or deep familiarity with educator development.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST) and data privacy laws.
• Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Must Be Able To
