Role Description

The Director, Continuous Improvement is responsible for establishing process, implementing tools and leading initiatives that enables Baylor Genetics to efficiently prioritize, plan, deliver, launch, monitor, and optimize products and services across the organization. The role is accountable for process and product optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position provides executive leadership with visibility into portfolio health, organizational capacity, delivery risks, operational performance, and strategic opportunities while driving improvements in efficiency, quality, customer experience, and business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Product Operations, Portfolio Management, Program Management, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years leading cross-functional enterprise-level programs or optimization functions.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Demonstrated success in planning and delivering complex initiatives, leading kaizens, change management, and building and improving processes.
• Solid executive communication skills.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Preferred: Experience within diagnostics, genomics, laboratory services, healthcare technology, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare environments.
• Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, FDA, and regulated healthcare environments.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Requirements

• Lead enterprise product optimization initiatives focused on operational efficiency, quality improvement, customer experience, workflow simplification, and business performance.
• Develop and maintain lifecycle management frameworks for Baylor Genetics’ test portfolio and supporting platforms.
• Partner with Product Management, Commercial, Laboratory, Clinical, and Operational stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support test menu optimization, portfolio rationalization, and lifecycle decision-making activities.
• Ensure lifecycle decisions are aligned with strategic objectives, laboratory capabilities, customer needs, and operational performance goals.
• Establish and maintain operational standards within the Product and Program Management organization.
• Identify and remove organizational bottlenecks that impact delivery performance.
• Drive accountability across teams to ensure commitments are achieved.
• Promote best practices in program management, product operations, business practices, and organizational execution.
• Support the enterprise Roadmap Planning process and supporting governance framework.
• Define and maintain enterprise Product Optimization and Operations KPIs.
• Develop executive dashboards and reporting frameworks.
• Establish measurement and reporting processes for portfolio health, delivery performance, launch readiness, operational efficiency, time-to-market, laboratory throughput, turnaround times, revenue performance, reimbursement outcomes, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with Business Intelligence and Data Analytics teams to automate operational reporting and insights.
• Utilize performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and delivery efficiency across the organization.
• Maintain a funnel of prioritized improvement initiatives aligned with strategic business priorities.
• Implement scalable governance, workflow, and decision-making frameworks.
• Promote process standardization and simplification across product, operational, and clinical functions.
• Drive adoption of operational best practices and performance management disciplines.
• Lead cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and deliver meaningful process improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
