[Hiring] Demo Engineer @Ashby

Role Description

As Ashby’s first Demo Engineer, you’ll own the systems that make our demo environments reliable, current, and tailored — the infrastructure the entire go-to-market team leans on to show Ashby at its best.

• AEs and SEs maintain and configure their own demo accounts by hand, which doesn’t scale.
• Your job is to close the gap between what Ashby can do and what can be shown live.
• This is a net-new role; the work is currently split between ad hoc effort and disposable demo templates.
• You’ll customize and extend templates, generate realistic demo data, and tailor environments for specific verticals.
• Your work will be split roughly 70/30: 70% on demo template system and 30% on demo readiness as a program.
• The ideal candidate is hands-on technical, working with internal tools and configuration files.

Qualifications

• Comfortable working in JSON, calling REST / developer APIs, using AI tools, and scripting.
• A builder, not just an operator; enjoys creating systems and tooling for team effectiveness.
• Deep care for demo quality and understanding of what makes a product demo successful.
• Strong product intuition and ability to learn a deeply configurable product quickly.
• Iterative mindset; enjoys testing, refining, and improving based on field feedback.
• Systems thinker who prefers standardizing and automating over manual repetition.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and enjoys a 0→1 role.
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills with Engineering and GTM teams.
• Empathy for go-to-market teams and the Talent Acquisition space.

Requirements

• Experience building demo environments, demo data, or sandbox/trial environments at a SaaS company.
• Experience writing automation scripts or tooling to generate data or configure environments at scale.
• Experience building and maintaining a library of reusable, templated environments or assets.
• Experience with HR tech, ATS workflows, or recruiting operations.
