Role Description

We will support you to obtain a professional qualification in the long term and you will gain first class on-the-job experience in your role fully supported by line management and the wider network of skilled colleagues in the business. The Early Careers Development Programme allows you to start your career and get paid as you learn.

This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist construction planning skills, to become a Planner, whilst studying towards a Degree in Site Management.

A day as an Apprentice Planner can look like:

• Learning about developing programmes alongside an experienced planner.
• Monitoring the progress of our construction projects to help us finish on time.
• Being part of a project team, participating in meetings to assist manage programmes and identifying risks.
• Creating 3D logistics diagrams to help us manage our sites.
• Building relationships with our supply chain to ensure safety, health, environmental, and social value goals are achieved.
• Working on one of our inspiring construction sites or being office-based working with our pre-construction teams contributing to work winning.
• Undertaking work in multiple disciplines to assist your development, including Site Management, Quantity Surveying, Site Engineering, Planning, Design Management, and Estimating.

Whilst there is no dedicated degree programme for Construction Planning, the Site Management Degree provides the technical construction knowledge required to build a successful career in planning. Through a combination of academic study, practical experience, and mentoring from experienced planners, you will develop the skills needed to become a professional Construction Planner.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for your chosen career path.
• 5 GCSEs A*-C (9-4) or equivalent qualifications, including English and Maths.
• A-levels or equivalent at level 3 with roughly 64 UCAS points (may vary depending on apprenticeship and FE/HE provider).
• Ability to travel or drive to remote site locations.
• Ideally some exposure to a construction/engineering environment.

Requirements

• Our degree is delivered by 1 week block releases (4 in total) by Nottingham Trent University. (Accommodation and expenses are paid for by us).
• We have worked closely with the university to ensure our apprentices will be delivered an industry leading, quality, degree apprenticeship.
