[Hiring] Community Manager @Layer

Role Description

If you're the kind of person who wants to talk to real people at the intersection of AI development and video games, this is the role for you. You'll be Layer's voice for the people who make games: the artists and art directors in our Discord and Creator Network, our followers on social, and the art, marketing and UA teams at the studios and brands we work with. You'll help us grow all three by talking directly with our customers while building the bots, agents and automations that keep our comms humming at all hours. This is a contract role with the opportunity to convert to full-time in the future.

Qualifications

• Have worked inside a game studio or publisher in community, social, creator or marketing roles.
• Have a relentless curiosity for things AI, especially image, video or 3D tools you yourself make.
• Have a strong opinion about what tools are worth adopting and which are not.
• Have a track record of growing Discord or creator communities.
• Have a real history in art tooling or game-dev communities.
• Write clearly and warmly.
• Can communicate as easily with the development team as with our customers and artists.
• Build your own workflows, bots or agents to help manage your communities.

Requirements

• Our shared creative spark: you're an artist, developer, musician, animator or filmmaker yourself.
• A deep desire to learn: you have a relentless sense of curiosity and a desire to push the latest tools to the limit.
• A deep personal network: a network across studios, brands or UA agencies of people you trust and can work with.
• An international team: speak another language? Live internationally? This is the team for you.

In Six Months

• Month 1: Rebuild our Discord server from the ground up, add our Creator Network partners into Discord, accept and brief creators every week, engage in social media conversations daily.
• Month 3: 75+ active creators posting weekly, and several live events run with creators working alongside our partners and product launches.
• Month 6: The community program is a well-oiled machine, onboarding new creators, organizing around product or model launches, and Layer's Discord community up by 10x.
