Role Description
Lead and develop a team of regional commodity buyers in mechatronics.
- Develop and execute regional mechatronics procurement strategies focused on cost reduction, quality improvement and risk management in the supply chain.
- Collaborate with technical teams, engineers and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including the financial health of suppliers, capacity constraints and geopolitical issues, and develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Negotiate and secure cost, quality and delivery capabilities, including escalations, develop and maintain agreements with suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or comparable qualification with several years of professional experience, ideally supplemented by Master´s degree or MBA.
- At least 7 years of experience in the areas of procurement, supply chain management or materials management, with at least 5 years in a management position in the automotive industry.
- Proven success in developing and implementing global or regional raw materials strategies, as well as negotiating complex contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of building and managing high-performance teams.
- Experience in a matrix organization in a global or regional environment.
- Fluent business English; knowledge of other languages (German, Spanish or Eastern European languages) an advantage.
- Proficiency in the MS Office package and knowledge of SAP.
