Role Description

Investigates, evaluates, and negotiates claims to a successful resolution in support of Freedom Specialty lines of business which include: Errors and Omissions, Directors and Officers, EPLI, and other specialty lines/risks. File inventory includes mostly litigated claims of high complexity and severity in terms of coverage and/or exposure. Associates at this level have high monetary authority.

Responsible for managing the work and performance of vendors to achieve successful resolution of claims. Has contact with internal and external customers which involve maintaining, developing, and influencing relationships. Responsible for meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Work is performed without appreciable direction and with supervision as needed. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.

Qualifications

• College degree required. Juris Doctorate preferred.
• Associates must obtain the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit.
• Appropriate claims handling experience in specific line of business typically acquired through 5+ years experience.
• Proven experience handling and/or managing higher severity and/or complex claims and litigation required.
• Proven experience analyzing and handling complex coverage issues.
• Specific and expert knowledge in a particular line of business and/or additional education may be required by the hiring business unit.
• In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment.
