[Hiring] Chief of Staff @IDC Research Inc.

YDay - IDC Research Inc. is hiring a remote Chief of Staff. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 150,000 - 155,000 per year πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

IDC is seeking a highly strategic, execution-focused Chief of Staff to support the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). This critical role will partner closely with the CMO to drive alignment across Marketing and its go-to-market partners, move key initiatives forward, and enable operational excellence within the marketing organization.

The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of strategic thinking, marketing and commercial acumen, program management discipline, cross-functional collaboration, and operational rigor. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, program owner, and operator, helping translate the CMO's vision into actionable plans and driving consistent execution across Brand, Event & Field Marketing, Pipeline Generation, Product Marketing, and Marketing Operations.

They are also AI-fluent and automation-first: comfortable running Claude and other AI tools to build reporting, analysis, and executive-ready materials, so recurring reports are automated rather than assembled by hand and the team's time goes to insight, decisions, and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Marketing Strategy, Marketing Operations, Program/Project Management, or Business Operations.
  • Previous experience in a chief of staff or similar role is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and go-to-market models (Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Brand, Marketing Operations, and Sales alignment).
  • Demonstrated experience working with executive stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong program and project management skills, including planning, risk management, and status reporting.
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.
  • Strong ability to navigate through ambiguity and ability to constantly shift priorities to the most important task at hand.
  • Operates with a high level of discretion, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
  • Must work independently and be personally motivated.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of identifying opportunities for improvement and driving change.
  • Strong communication skills β€” both written and verbal β€” with the poise to engage senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Serve as a thought partner to the CMO; help prioritize focus areas and support decision-making.
  • Support strategic planning and quarterly/annual business reviews across the marketing organization.
  • Prepare executive-level materials (board decks, investor updates, CMO talk tracks, marketing performance and budget analysis).
  • Run cross-functional programs and projects across Marketing and its go-to-market partners.
  • Manage the CMO’s operating rhythm β€” agendas, leadership meetings, cadences, and communications.
  • Maintain a portfolio view of strategic initiatives β€” timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and owners.
  • Support marketing budget tracking and agency and vendor management.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership, Sales leadership, RevOps, and Finance to align and track shared goals.
  • Identify and resolve cross-functional roadblocks and dependency risks that hinder marketing performance.
  • Lead special projects and transformations using clear program plans, status reporting, and success metrics.
  • Act as a communication bridge between the CMO and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Craft compelling messaging for internal communications and organizational change initiatives.
  • Handle sensitive or high-impact matters with discretion and diplomacy.

Benefits

  • 15 vacation days (prorated based on start date).
  • 12 company-paid holidays.
  • 6 paid sick days (prorated based on start date; may vary by state).
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 2 floating holidays (prorated based on start date).
  • 1 volunteer day.
  • 401(k) company match (IDC matches 3% on the first 6% of employee contributions).
  • Company-paid short-term disability.
  • Company-paid life insurance.
  • Company-paid parental leave.
