[Hiring] CAT II Persian Farsi Linguist @LIS Solutions

Role Description

The CAT II Persian Farsi Linguist will provide accurate, complete, and trusted interpretation and/or translation of data from a variety of Specified Contract Required Language(s) (SCRL) in support of the customer’s mission. Linguists shall cover a wide range of styles and subjects, including:

• Contracts and laws
• Treaties and international agreements on technical, scientific, military, economic, and cultural subjects
• Training manuals
• Court documents
• Political speeches and position papers
• Slide presentations
• Official correspondence between Government leaders

Linguists will be responsible for the following:

• Transcription: Provide written translations of aural, videotape, and/or other sources from one language into another language, preserving the meaning and intent of the original source.
• Translation: Provide written translations of source texts in one language into English, ensuring the meaning and intent of the original text are preserved.
• Interpretation: Provide interpreters who have a command of English and the target language(s).

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance
• Fluency in English and proficiency in the SCRL language(s), including strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience in transcription, translation, and interpretation, with a minimum of 1 year in a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of the cultural and ethnic contexts related to the SCRL language(s)
• Ability to conduct accurate and idiomatic translations of non-technical materials between English and the SCRL language(s)
• Strong research and analytical skills to perform document exploitation
• Familiarity with professional fields such as medicine, science, engineering, law, etc.
• Knowledge of security protocols and ability to ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in relevant software applications
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• U.S. Citizenship is required
