Role Description

The Business Process Consultant – Revenue Cycle Intelligent Automation is responsible for designing, building, and implementing AI- and agent-based solutions across CHOP’s revenue cycle operations. This role requires hands-on experience developing and deploying AI-driven workflows, including AI agents that can interpret, decide, and execute tasks within complex revenue cycle processes.

• Identify opportunities to apply AI to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and accelerate throughput across functions such as registration, billing, coding, and denials.
• Develop and deploy AI use cases, integrating solutions within Epic and related systems.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and measurable.
• Partner with operational teams, IT, and data stakeholders to translate business requirements into deployed AI solutions.
• Ensure successful build, testing, implementation, and continuous optimization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in identifying, designing, and implementing AI or RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solutions within a complex hospital or healthcare environment.
• A passion for data-driven decision-making and an ability to translate complex data sets into actionable business process improvements.
• Deep familiarity with Epic systems and an understanding of how to leverage its framework for revenue cycle optimization and automation.
• The ability to partner effectively with diverse stakeholders—from clinical unit leaders to the Chief Nursing Officer.
• A robust understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, including registration, billing, and payer contract structures.
• A values-driven approach that prioritizes integrity, teamwork, and the ultimate goal of supporting world-class care for children and families.
• 2 years of consulting experience is strongly preferred for this role.

Requirements

• Develop and maintain written documentation for processes that exist between departments, systems, external vendors, and payers.
• Act as a high-level business process consultant between operations, performance improvement, and IT for needs that cross boundaries.
• Implement processes and practices that can adapt quickly to changing organization, business, and payer demands.
• Review business process, system, or other changes that might impact existing workflows and recommend methods to optimize to desired state and improve efficiency.
• Perform business impact reviews of test plans that span across departments, workflows, or systems.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• At least five (5) years experience with system design, process workflow design, or business/systems consulting. Required
• EPIC experience Preferred
• Revenue Cycle experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Strong analytical and communication skills (Required proficiency)
• Strong computer skills to include database analysis (Required proficiency)
• Statistical software experience (Preferred proficiency)
• Extensive knowledge of workflow and/or system design (Required proficiency)
• Extensive knowledge of analytical tools, business intelligence tools, and statistical packages (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• EPIC certification - EPIC - Preferred
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) - Lean Six Sigma Green Belt - LSSGB - American Society for Quality - Preferred

Salary Range

$101,300.00 - $129,100.00 Annually. Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
