Role Description

Responsible for the complete subrogation process of investigation, negotiation and settlement of auto claims that have been identified to have subrogation potential.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle auto subrogation files of moderate to high complexity.
• Thorough knowledge of all types of auto subrogation claims, including commercial auto, medical payments, personal injury protection, and product liability.
• Awareness of laws governing insurance claims, keeping current on critical case laws, statutes, and trends in the field of subrogation.
• Maintains certifications and licensures where applicable.

Requirements

• Navigates through proprietary database and electronic documents to process and resolve claims with subrogation potential.
• Places adverse carriers on notice of intent to subrogate.
• Negotiates settlements or liability based on a percentage when necessary.
• Evaluates claims for arbitration, suit, or collections.
• Prepares claims for inter-company proceedings or legal forwarding.
• Recommends closure of claims with no subrogation potential.
• Prioritizes and documents all activities for recovery.
• Documents all conversations, correspondence, and file updates related to claims.
• Maintains current diaries and sets timely follow-ups on subrogation issues.
• Exhibits strong communication skills with insurance clients, attorneys, law enforcement, and insureds.
• Handles difficult conversations and demonstrates conflict management skills.
• Assists customers with resolution of moderately complex questions.
• Works within a team environment in a positive and cooperative manner.
• Consistently performs at or above goals for recovery, file quality, and resolution timeliness.
