[Hiring] Assistant Director @Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission

Role Description

The Assistant Director position plays a key leadership role within DAI, supporting Directors to guide our vision that delivers timely, accurate and actionable products and trusted insights that are easily understood and acted on by our stakeholders.

• Provide strategic advice, translate insights into action, and drive innovation in data practices.
• Lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of data, analytics and intelligence initiatives.
• Provide leadership of a team consistent with statutory responsibilities and the strategic direction and operational policies of the organisation.
• Establish and implement effective communication systems, both internal and external to Commission.
• Provide high-quality, strategic advice to the Directors, senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Drive the adoption of emerging tools, technologies and methodologies to enhance the value of the Commission’s data and regulatory decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in engaging with stakeholders in relation to difficult, technical and/or sensitive issues.
• Excellent research, conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capability to self-manage multiple competing priorities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong quality assurance capability.
• Flexibility to work both independently and with geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong data and regulatory intelligence literacy and reporting skills.
• Understanding the role and benefits of data, analytics and intelligence in modern regulatory agencies.
• Ability to manage, develop and lead a team including data and intelligence specialist staff.
• (For Data and Products roles) Experience working in Agile delivery teams, particularly as a Product Owner or Technical Lead.
• (For Assistant Director, Data Architecture role) Experience working with cloud data platforms and overseeing the development and maintenance of enterprise data architectures and standards.

Requirements

• Salary offered will be between $122,620 to $139,850 per annum depending on skills and experience.
• In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
• Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply.
• Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check.
• Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term.
• Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
• Merit Pool established through this selection process may be used to fill this or future ongoing or non-ongoing vacancies.
