May 15, 2024 - Dotdash Meredith is hiring a remote Commerce News and Deals Writer. 💸 Salary: $30 per hour. 📍Location: USA.
This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes.
The News and Deals Writer will join the central Commerce vertical within the Transaction team and will create shopping content for several Dotdash Meredith brands, including People, InStyle, Real Simple, Travel + Leisure, and Food & Wine. They will focus on deals and compelling products across the fashion, beauty, home, kitchen, and travel space. This role requires someone who is passionate about writing, shopping, finding great deals, and can produce multiple articles per day, creating content that inspires Dotdash Meredith’s large audiences to make informed purchases. This role will write across various brands based on fluctuating team needs, so the ideal candidate is comfortable with being flexible and working across teams.
Assignment Details:
40 hours per week
$30 per hour
Location: Remote - US
Assignment Responsibilities:
- Pitch and write multiple timely and trending shopping articles daily that generate strong affiliate revenue
- Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
- Collaborate closely with writers and editors across the Commerce team and across Dotdash Meredith
- Keep up with shopping trends, celebrity styles, seasonal finds, and viral social products
- Build own content within CMS
- Research, reach out to, and interview experts to provide background information and quotes as needed
- Attend and participate in weekly meetings across brands
- Prepare content for major shopping events, including but not limited to Prime Day and Black Friday-Cyber Monday
Skills/Experience:
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that works across multiple different brands
- A strong, fast writer well-versed in product reviews; experience writing commerce content is a plus
- Familiar with SEO best practices and have experience creating SEO-driven content
- Familiar with writing and covering trending products, including but not limited to TikTok-viral products
- Familiar with the Dotdash Meredith portfolio, and able to adapt to numerous brand voices and writing styles
- Experienced with digital media tools such as CMS (WordPress) and Google Analytics
- Comfortable working with data and analytics, and conducting keyword research
- Able to write compelling headlines that drive high engagement/page views
- Excellent at communicating with others
- Ideally, you have 2+ years related experience
