Role Description
Provide theological writing support and resource development to meet the specific needs of students in the Master of Arts in Theological Studies (MATS), the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC), and Theological Studies Certificate (TSC) programs.

Develop and manage academic writing support for MATS and MAC students (40%)

Participate in team design of instructional models

Develop and deliver instruction (workshops, videos, podcasts, etc.)

Consult with students in one-on-one appointments

Interact with Online Instructors (OI) concerning student writing

Coordinate in-course writing support with the Learning Experience (LX) team
-
Participate in core CTW writing resource updates for MAC and MATS students (40%)
-
Update CTW writing resources to meet specific needs of MAC and MATS students
-
Contribute MAC and MATS assignment analysis and sample paper updates in order to improve CTW resources

Suggest topics for CTW workshops, videos, etc.

Post on writing topics relevant to studentsโ writing issues

Teach one writing class per semester (20%)

Other duties or tasks as assigned
Qualifications
-
Masterโs degree in theology, biblical studies, church history, or other field relevant to theological writing
-
Teaching or TA experience in Apologetics, Systematics, Biblical Studies, Church History and/or Pastoral Theology courses in a seminary or university setting

Excellent writing skills

Thorough knowledge of English rhetoric, grammar, and usage

Cross-cultural communication experience

Experience teaching writing to adult, returning, and non-traditional learners (preferred)

Working Conditions

This job operates primarily in an academic environment on a year-round basis.

This is a full-time, exempt position with 40 hours per week expected.
